2003 EVENTS
Independence Day Celebration - sponsored by the Town of Collierville
Join us for the 18th annual celebration featuring entertainment,
concessions, games, and an exciting fireworks display! Fun for the
entire family! The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Place: H.W. Cox Park (formerly Powell Road Park)
*Due to construction on the Community Center,
parking will be extremely limited in the park. It is important that
spectators use the provided MATA bus shuttles from the Collierville High
School parking lot or park in alternative places and walk to the park.
Women's Lifestyle Expo
Enjoy a variety of booths and presentations. Door prizes,
including a week stay in Vail and air fare to the Bahamas, will be given
away.

Mother/Son Bowling Night
Spend a fun-filled evening with your son at Funquest Bowling Lanes, 440
Highway 72.
Registration begins Tuesday, September 3 at the Community Center and ends
Wednesday, September 25.
You MUST pre-register. We have to reserve our lanes in advance so NO late
registrations will be taken.
Cost: $20/couple; $10/each additional son (includes: 2 hours of bowling,
shoes, drink, slice of pizza, and dessert)

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Mulberry Festival
The Mulberry Festival is a joint venture of the Collierville Arts Council
and The Historic Square Merchants Association with the support of the Town
of Collierville. The juried festival features the fine artistry of painting,
pottery, sculpting, musical and written compositions, mixed media, jewelry,
watercolors, crafts, and other categories. There is music, food,
entertainers and special events for kids and adults.
Cost: Free
Dates: October 11 & 12
Times: Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon - 5 p.m.

Halloween on the Square
Children 10 and under are invited to the Square for games, crafts, face
painting, candy, prizes, and two moonbounces!
Date: Friday, October 31
Time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Place: Town Square
Cost: Free!

Turkey Shoot
Don't worry! This competition uses basketballs. Each participant will take
10 shots from the "fowl" line. The person in each division who makes the
most baskets will win a turkey just in time for Thanksgiving. Register
November 1 - 8 at the Community Center.
Age Divisions: (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), and (13-14)

Christmas Tree Lighting
Children of all ages are invited to join us for traditional Christmas music,
hot chocolate and coffee, and a visit from the jolly man himself - Santa
Claus!

Christmas Parade
Come enjoy the biggest Christmas event in Collierville! The parade route
starts at Byhalia and Polo Run and ends at Frank Road near Collierville High
School.

Father/Daughter Date Night
Evening includes dinner, dancing, and lots of fun!
Registration begins Monday, January 12 at the Community Center. Space
is limited to the first 50 couples to purchase tickets. If this number
is not reached, the deadline is
Friday, January 30.
Cost: $20/couple; $10 for each additional daughter.
Date: Saturday, February 7
Time: 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Place: Community Center
Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt
Friday, April 2 at 8:30 p.m. at Suggs Park. Free to kids 10 to 16.
Thousands of eggs will be hidden and lots of prizes will be given away! Don't
forget a flashlight and a bag or basket.
Challenger Little League
For children 8 and older with special needs to learn the fundamental of
baseball/softball.
Dates: Sundays, April 18, 25 & May 2 at Suggs Park
Saturday, April 10 & May 8 and 15 at Cox Park
Cost: $25 (includes a jersey)

Collierville Youth Fishing Rodeo
(Sponsored by Back Yard Burgers and Strike King Lures)
Enjoy a morning of fishing with your children 12 and younger. All
participants must pre-register. Forms are available at Back Yard
Burgers (Collierville) and the Community Center.
Cost: Free!

Camp Smile
A place for children with disabilities ages 7 - 16 to enjoy the day camp
experience. Registration begins March 17.
